I did some quick sketches for my timeline. Just something I thought about while having a cup of coffee. I do not know if either one of these will be the final look, but will try to make it look as good as I can for my portfolio as well.

P&P - Highway Obstacles - v0.2 Revision
Problem Statement: San Francisco Bay Area drivers are not aware of the items they carry on their vehicles which often falls on the freeway and cause car accidents.
Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study was to inform drivers to secure the items they are carrying on the vehicle to make sure they will not fall off.

Problem Statement: Pickup truck drivers’ tools fall while driving which causes car accidents.
Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study was to come up with a solution to avoid tools fall off the truck while driving.
P&P - Railroad Crossing System - v0.1
This was the original problem that I was going for. However it would involve a lot of government departments. Maybe state and the federal departments.
Problem Statement: Railroad Crossings do not have a good system to stop pedestrians or drivers to cross, and that allows suicides to happen easily.
Purpose Statement: The purpose of this study was to create a system that can solidly block the access of drivers or pedestrians to cross when trains pass by.

About Me
My name is Yan Zhu, and I am a graduating senior majoring in graphic design from San Francisco State University. I was born in China, but my family is Korean descent, and that makes me strong in both Chinese and Korean language. I came to U.S. when I was thirteen years old, and since then I have been living in the city of San Francisco. I attended Benjamin Franklin Middle School and Raoul Wallenberg Traditional High School, and experienced racism and robbery from the Fillmore neighborhood which I never imagined those would happen to me. As I grew up to college life, I felt quite thankful to the education and friendships I received from this country.
Inspirations
I am inspired and want to be continuously inspired in every moment of my life. People's ideas, theories, professional works, philosophies, stories, writings, success or failure inspire all the time.
Influence
Influences come from all directions in my life, and some are truly valuable. The people I hang around with all the time are the main influences to what I do. They are creative and business people, so I get influences from those aspects very often. Some of my habits are also a strong influence, and that is reading news and hot trends on the internet to beware of what is happening around me. I want to be more influenced by valuable materials, so I can boot my skills and knowledge.
Vision
Like everyone else, success is my goal in anything I do. I am working on to finish a task from the beginning to the end no matter what the results will be and without any doubts to give up. The reason is to train myself to experience and learn from the result. Being professional in the work aspects is my priority, because I put myself as a client and I know how critical it is in a business relationship. Making friends is also in my nature, and I consider myself as a friendly person. I like to meet people and exchange life stories and work experience or share a meal together. I believe social networking is a skill that every successful person must achieve, and I am working towards that every day.
